Still more...

As much as Kaylie enjoyed floating around in the Core Sound in front of Nan's house, she did NOT like the noise of the big waves at the actual ocean, so was content to just pick up shells from the beach instead. I threw pretzel sticks to the seagulls behind us for her to watch.....

Cape Lookout and its waves....

Nan would take bread out in the front yard for the seagulls to eat, and Kaylie enjoyed watching them and exclaiming over the birds!

Our day at Cape Lookout was the highlight of our trip, hence more pictures of that than anything else.
We also walked through the aquarium in Morehead City. Not as big as the one we have here in Atlanta, Vernon says, but still nice.
And there you have our trip in a nutshell--at least what we chose to let you see. =]
We unfortunately don't have any pictures to show of our time in VA at this point.

Our August Life

Here's a run down of our month:

August 3-6~Our dear friends Chad, Doris, Anna & Kyle Mast were here.

August 9~Lez's prenatal appointment

August 10-19~on vacation in NC and VA.*

August 20~Vernon started his last year of pre-med school and a new work schedule as well.

*Lezlie's grandmother owns a cottage on the Core Sound of Atlantic Ocean, and is planning to sell the land there. So before it got out of the family, we spent the first half of our time there, soaking up what relaxation we could! Nothing like looking out your front window every morning and seeing the calming waters and Cape Lookout--the lighthouse with diamonds--across the way to put you in good spirits for the day!

We finished up our trip in South Boston for Lezlie's cousin Krista Good's wedding to Jamin Miller on the 17th.

We praise God for safety along the way! Kaylie had high fevers for 3 1/2 days during the middle of our trip, which included a few days in NC, traveling to VA, and the first day there, which was NOT fun. Thankfully it went down by the time of the wedding, allowing us to go ahead and stay the rest of the weekend, rather than go home early to go see her doctor. We have since confirmed that it was probably a virus, that thankfully neither parent caught.

Now on to school life...........................
